Launching the New 5 Step Learning Journey - Adapting to a Post-Pandemic Environment

Monday 6 December

My amazing education and social impact team have been busy creating and preparing to launch our new Five-Step Learning Journey next year..

With our financial situation being significantly impacted as well as the ongoing process of transitioning from vans to direct delivery, we accelerated the development of our deeper dosage learning experience where teachers and students receive five separate touch points.

The five step learning journey is depicted with:

The 5 steps include:

  • Healthy Harold Live
A real life-sized Healthy Harold. Yes, that is right! - This is a chance for the whole school to celebrate life skills learning together, with each class sharing their commitment to a positive behaviour change.
  • Classroom Experience
We have re-worked our programs to focus more on “hands on learning” as we take advantage of a bigger space - and bigger means bigger impact with more focus on movement, collaboration and creating. There’s a lot of focus on creating artefacts in this new environment which we couldn’t do before.
  • Teacher Support
Teachers will receive access to our revised digital learning modules and resources which the team undertook in lockdown. We will also be releasing a series of masterclass Professional Development Workshops for teachers focused on Social Emotional Learning.
  • Parent Support
We’ve deepened the focus for Parents and Carers to support their children with a combination of live, interactive webinars and  pre-recorded content. Over time, we will be creating more practical educational content for parents on specific topics.
  • Reflective Digital Incursion
And last but not least, students virtually reconnect with Harold and our facilitator about 2-4 weeks post session in our Healthy Harold Stars program. Students share with Harold their commitment to positive behaviour change, seek his advice, tips and strategies and work through a series of engaging activities to develop a class goal towards positive health and wellbeing.

We are extremely excited to be launching this new in-classroom journey. We believe this experience will replace some of the magic from the van plus continue our journey of aspiring to really embed greater impact to children.

This has really been a huge team effort from operation workflows to marketing and preparing the whole delivery team as much as we can to ensure we have a successful, uninterrupted year ahead.

Wish us luck on this new exciting adventure!
